Flipping The Switch On Broadband Value

The Digital Home of 2010
Cox Communications President Pat Esser addressed the Media Institute on March 22, sharing his view that “echo boomers,” the 73-million-strong generation of 15-to-25-year-olds, will soon begin exacting sweeping change in the communications marketplace. Esser addressed the Cox Communications digital home of 2010 and how consumers will be using communications and entertainment services then. He also appealed to lawmakers to let the marketplace dictate winners and losers among service providers, and to refrain from new regulation and legislation that would result in a titled playing field and ultimately harm consumers. Frame the Future

How will cable defend its video turf from both telco and satellite companies? What role does IP have in cable's future? How will cable modem service remain competitive in light of changing technologies? Does cable need a wireless play?

Many of these questions were posed — and answered — during the Cox Analyst Roundtable: "Frame the Future," held in Philadelphia on July 24, 2005 and attended by leading industry analysts. Click on one of the four audio files below to hear Cox executives share their views on the future of broadband communications.
