Cox Savings Creature Embraces MySpace Community

billy.gif

The affectionate mound of money featured in recent Cox Digital Phone advertisements now has a personal MySpace page, http://www.myspace.com/billythesavingscreature. Billy the Savings Creature’s vocal capabilities are limited to chirps and giggles so MySpace provides an ideal way for him to make friends. In addition to his role on Cox television spots, Billy has a 2008 calendar and his ads are featured on YouTube.

MySpace and other online user-generated content forums continue to provide a voice to people (and creatures) of all types and Billy will not likely be the last non-speaking, non-human mascot to make friends in this online community. The venue is more the rule now than the exception as a preferred communication channel for the coveted 18-34 demographic and the marketing opportunity will only get stronger.

Billy’s MySpace profile reveals his hobbies and features photos with family and friends. Billy is currently three feet tall, but as the money customers save from switching to Cox Digital Telephone grows month after month, so does Billy. Extremely passionate about saving customers money on telephone service, Billy has teamed with Cox to help spread the news about the power of bundling voice, data and video services.
