Perks of Living in Dish, Texas?

In a Dish Network publicity stunt, town leaders of Clark, Texas (the one in Denton County, not the one in Liberty County) voted to rename their town Dish. Here are the top ten perks we think the residents of Dish, Texas can now look forward to.

10) All those hours of satellite TV outage will give town leaders ample time to plot their takeover of Dallas/Ft. Worth.

9) Extra $50 a month will buy a ton of steak

8) Climbing ladders to adjust the dishes whenever the wind blows will be great exercise

7) Long waits for Dish service mean more time to talk about the weather

6) Dress ‘em up and obsolete dishes make good scarecrows for the garden

5) A sure cure for insomnia: reading those reams of small print on the Dish contract

4) We hear Dish is adding CBN – the Cow Branding Network

3) Dish service is so unreliable you wouldn’t want to pay for it – now you don’t have to!

2) Finally, the town has something in common with its sister cities: Cup, Connecticut and Saucer, Montana

1) At least Dish, Texas fits on the city limits signs easier than the logical alternative: We’veGotUglyEyesoreContraptionsOnTheRoofsOfOurHousesAndBarns, Texas

I have another suggestion for something that the Dish residents can look forward to: a bitter rivalry with Cable, Wisconsin (an actual town!)

Sound like one big experiment. Maybe it should be called petri dish
